Editing My Film

Editing was more challenging than the previous projects. I had to trim a lot of film and split them into several different scenes so it would be easier to put together as a finish product. It was easy to dump the film onto my personal computer. Dumping it onto my computer was a great decision since now I will be able to edit and make changes when needed instead of having to rely on the school. I decided to have no filters onto my film as I wanted it to look realistic. Every scene looked clearer so I there wasn't a big problem with lighting.
I knew what order I was gonna put my titles and how they were gonna look so that was easy to figure out. There would be a clearer distance of time between every slide. I already had software onto my computer to make these changes. It was easy to go over all the film since I had already looked over everything. I had a decent amount of fun while I was editing.

Editing Blog

Okay I am once again editing my film. It was actually kinda easier to edit now that I did the complicated stuff the other day. All the scenes now have to place in the correct order so there will be no mistakes. I am happy that I was happy to do this myself since I gave me a sense of accomplishment. I was able to completely edit the film into the 2 minute length which was very good. I do think  that I have to make the transitions look smoother. There are some chops in the film that need to be fixed. There was also some unneeded sound that needs to be cleared. There wasn't any big mistake that I think will create any incidences with the film. I hope my choice of changing my film was correct.
I really like being in AICE Media Studies. Even though I will not be majoring in film, it gave me a way to let out my sense of creativity in a productive way. I was able to save everything I had edited. It could help make any needed changes at anytime. As I was looking through the footage, I realized I had about 30 minutes of raw footage. I could create different scenarios with this footage so I will keep it as my backup and for review. I had also backed up all the information onto my computer so there would be any incidences. I will also check to see if everything is exactly like my scripts and storyboard for the film.

Filming Blog

I began my 2nd day of filming the next day. I filmed the twins moving from the dining room to the door. I also had to make the twins went a certain distance before I could make them come back to end the scene. I made sure they were at a safe range so there wasnt any harm. There was no big problems with make up or costumes. The twins already wore had the aesthetic to wear the same clothes. My aunt was already wearing casual clothing and had the aura of a mother. This made the filming process more accurate which was really beneficial. The twins quickly understood what was happening and everything went smoothly.
There was a time where my aunt and I were discussing different settings and plots of the film to get it really in depth which created minor changes overall. There wasn't any known mistakes when filming and changes went smoothly. I'm happy that I had my family be part of my film instead of just getting random people or friends to do it. It filming go by quickly and created a comfortable environment. I dumped the film directly onto my computer after filming. I watched the raw footage to see if there wasn't anything missing from filming. We still filmed at my relative's home where we got permission to film. I reviewed the raw footage to note the camera angles and scenes. When I edit, it will be easier to go over. There are still some scenes that need to be filmed for another filming day.

Filming Blog

I had filmed my movie and it seemed to be be really good. We had to take it slow to due to the twins being so young. My aunt was very helpful with me when filming. She helped me guide my film on the right path which I am really grateful for. I did look at new storyboard a lot to give my film a better effect. It made the filming process more accurate which was really beneficial. The only problem that I really had was that my grandmother was in the background of my film. I wanted to somehow incorporate it in my film by having her as a mentally undeveloped character. It was very simple to film but we will have a second day of filming to make sure that we corrected any errors made. Any mistakes would make it difficult to edit.

We filmed at a relative's house where we got permission to film. We didn't film anything unneeded. The twins, although needed a lot of directions, were very helpful actresses that were really interested in the filming process. There wasn't any known mistakes when filming and changes went smoothly. Peer Review

In class, I got to review someone else's film project. I was able to give my opinion about the film and see if it needed any changes. The group I reviewed had their video at exactly 2 minutes long (2:00) and the story told of two friends who were at a party and wanted to go leave. They called a car to come get them. The driver knew where they were going but dropped them off at an unknown location. The two friends got suspicious when they left the car and saw nothing at their location. They walked back to the car and out of curiosity opened the drivers trunk to see someone who was at the party tied up in the trunk. The driver see them and chases them away from the car. The driver finally catches on of them and beats him up with a stick. The other friend runs away and the the driver comes closer to the screen. This concept was really good.
The group, however, did not do their title slides which is basically all they really need to do finish the project. There was good lighting throughout the film except for when the driver had beat up the friend with a stick. It was really dark and you could barely see the driver but I think it creates a good shadow and suspenseful build up to when the driver's face appears on screen. They had avoided filming the tripod and other people. They did have an extra friend be apart of the film who want in the class which I think was really good. I liked that the film seemed very organized but I would like to know how did the person from the party end up in the trunk. It would be great if that was shown. There was a establishing shot, close up, medium close up, long shot, over the shoulder, high angle, low angle, pan, eyeliner match, action match, diagetic sound and non-diagetic sound in the film. There was no pan or shot reverse shot to be seen.
